It gives me great pleasure to share my amazing interview and wonderful conversation with the distinguished author John R. Howard. Once each month I host a series called “Black History is American History” on the Red River Writers radio network where I feature an author whose work has significantly contributed to the African American legacy. Mr. Howard’s novel “FACES IN THE MIRROR, Oscar Micheaux & Spike Lee” profoundly does justice to our story. Mr. Howard is a college professor, attorney, and author who skillfully blends the stories of both film producers and brings their stories to life. He will discuss his book which examines the lives of two black film directors whose biographies define the history of African-American film. Faces in the Mirror: Oscar Micheaux and Spike Lee. Faces in the Mirror looks at these two fascinating and important lives and how they reflect how much that has changed in film and in American society, as well as much that remains the same. This is a historical look at cinema like you have never seen it and will never look at the same way again. You don’t want to miss this show!"
