I have been handling our conversation in a way that I want to make a little better tonight.  People that I respect have told me to be successful as a speaker I should talk about fires.  People are drawn like moths to the fires.  We rubberneckers, complainers, etc.  If I as a campign strategist were to create a conflict – in modern terms called a “crisis – that people will blame on the other guy…I will enjoy substantial benefits because my competition gets the burdens.

People will work twice as hard to prevent a loss as they will work for half of that amount of gain.  Lose $100 omg, have a chance to gain $50…when I get a chance.

Tonight I want to believe that I am so gifted in how engage in conversation that I can buck that psychological trend, that popular opinion.  I want to talk about solutions.

Let me way that again.  I want to talk about solutions.  I want you to join me in shaping solutions.  If I present one and you would like to improve my ideas – even if that means trying to reverse them – then do that.  I chose to be here with this sacred mic and the sacred phones.

So, I ask you to join me in these solutions, these conversations that are the kitchen where we cook up solutions.
