Sandy Asirvatham is chief music arranger and primarily responsible for the musical vision of the album. She was a respected journalist and award-winning City Paper columnist before launching a second career as a pianist and singer-songwriter. Of her eclectic jazz-pop songs, WRNR DJ Michael Buckley says, "When it comes to crossing invisible musical boundaries, Sandy Asirvatham is an innovator." With one foot still in the world of creative writing, Asirvatham recently completed the first draft of a memoir entitled "Songs Can Save Your Life." The idea for Mobtown Moon came to her while listening to the original Pink Floyd recording during long treadmill training sessions for a triathlon in 2009.
