With a love of music from an early age, John Krauss began with clarinet, adding guitar at 14. By the age of 21 he formed original bands and recorded in local studios.  Soon, he became interested in record production and purchased recording equipment  to make and release his music as both an indie artist and as producer for other artists. In the Washington, DC area, he worked in commercial recording studios as audio engineer, composer and producer. 

Having written and co-written hundreds of songs and compositions, John has extensive insight into creating the right sound and mood of the music to make a project soar. John is highly skilled as a session guitarist, laying down guitar arrangements for a wide range of musical styles. Whether he's working on a straight pop project, or composing an Avant Garde piece for film, he instinctively knows what's needed.  A great mix can really bring a song to life.  John can quickly find and emphasize what makes a song tick- and frame it with just the right treatments to make it memorable. He helps musicians create a final product that oftentimes exceeds their expectations, centering on each detail, contributing to the overall picture that beautifully represents the artist's vision. John Krauss specializes in bringing out  the best in artists through honest, exciting performances, arrangement and sonic beauty.  He puts the artist first. At the 2018 Voice Arts Awards held in Los Angeles, Krauss received 2 audio engineer nominations for Outstanding Commercial Demo Reel.
