"Victim-hood is a state of consciousness that occurs when we fail to take complete responsibility for our responses to life and results in stressful negative emotions. It is a state that we often associate with the negative connotations of the ego such as self-obsession, inferiority, lack of joy, guilt, frustration and so on. The ego assumes many different roles when we think, talk and/or act as victims. I believe that every dysfunctional interaction, in relationship with other or self, takes place on the victim triangle. But until we become conscious of these dynamics, we cannot transform them. And unless we transform them, we cannot move forward on our journey towards re-claiming emotional, mental and spiritual well-being." -says Lynne Forrest, a non-traditional practitioner who through twenty three years of experience in private practice has developed a unique understanding of how the mind works and ways to liberate it from the throes of what she calls the “victim mind”.

She started out in the mental health field in the early seventies, hired and trained by an HMO (health maintenance organization) in social work and mental health and has been in the field of personal growth ever since, moving to the addictions field in the early eighties, where she was one of the pioneers for co-dependency and family of origin work in her town of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Join Lynne and Luciana for an enlightening interview on how we react to life in one of two ways: We’re either reacting out of thevictim mind or we see life through the eyes of the observer self which witnesses without judgment, and what role does Forgiveness play on both.
