I was born and raised in Sacramento CA. For the most of my life growing up as a child I was faced with many difficulties in life. Writing in journals or diaries was a way for me to deal with the circumstances that life has handed me, but as I entered into adulthood my way to express myself came an end. Writing for me was like talking to a close friend to whom I was able to tell anything knowing my words would be safe. After many attempts to hold on I was forced to let go of the one true friend and confidant that I had at the time. It wasn't until January of 2010, when I sought out counseling, that my doctor suggested that I should start writing again. It was time for me to take back what was taken from me so long ago. I stand before you a stronger woman. Overcoming personal tragedies, I stand before you with my first poetry book Injured but not Damaged. I can honestly say that my book has been a burden, but a true blessing at the same time. For the first time I can be proud of myself for achieving one of my greatest accomplishments in life other than becoming a mother. Please come walk with  me as I take the first steps to a new beginning.
