'Conversations" with Cedric Dean

Cedric’s Bio: I grew up in the streets of Charlotte, N.C. where my ambition early on was to go to jail and solidify my street credibility. At age 13, in 1985, I began robbing and stealing. By 15, I was expelled from school for carrying a gun onto a school bus - months later I shot someone. Shortly after my 16th birthday I committed armed robbery and was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Five and a half years later, I was released from prison with the aspirations of being a crack dealer. Eleven months later, I was back in jail - this time I received Life without parole for my role in a Federal crack cocaine conspiracy. But during a long stretch in a penitentiary lock-up, about the only thing I could do was sit back a reflect on the errors of my way. What happened next, I underwent disciplined years of education, soul searching, enlightenment, metaphysical development and fighting my internal evil spirits. Though despised for being a thug, my metamorphosis caused me to renounce my past criminal lifestyle, to renounce any association with crime, drugs or violence. Today, I am committed to helping the misguided see the mistake in not learning from my mistakes. Today, I am no longer serving Life, but I've been given a second chance by the U.S. Sentencing Commission that authorized for my sentence to be reduced by a U.S. District Judge. Today, I am the founder of the Save The Children Campaign devoted to positively impacting the lives of the misguided, and reducing the rate of crime and violence and promoting peace throughout the world. Today, I am an accomplished author of 6 published books - most notably: How To Stop Your Children From Going To Prison and How To Save Our Children From Crime, Drugs and Violence. come join us as we explore the depths of a Man who has turned the Corner from his past and has gone on to enlighten and empower our youth of today.
