Writer/ director Jim Hemphill's first film was the award-winning horror movie Bad Reputation, which was released by Warner Bros. and Maverick Entertainment in 2007. His newest film, "The Trouble with the Truth," starring Lea Thompson and John Shea recently showed at the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival, where it won the Independent Spirit Award,but originally opened to rave reviews in late 2012. Besides being an adept filmmaker, Hemphill is also a skilled journalist, writing for many magazines. He even interviews writers and directors on his own podcast for American Cinematographer Magazine's website. In addition, he moderates discussions at the American Cinematheque. Originally born in Minnesota, he now lives in Los Angeles.
