On this episode of The Freak Show, Ryan and Holly are joined by Josh Detwiler of Translating Phantoms.

Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always been into the paranormal. I can remember watching shows like Unsolved Mysteries and my favorite episodes were always the ones about ghosts and UFOs. Even though they scared the crap out of me, I couldn’t stop watching. The question of “do ghosts exist” has never really been a question for me. I have always believed. Growing up I played a lot of sports, I was involved in things that were more “the norm” for most people, but I was always drawn to the paranormal, it was always in the back of my mind. My teachers would get frustrated with me because the only books I wanted to read were things like Goosebumps and the Scary Stories series, I could never get into any of the books we were required to read. As I got older the paranormal still stuck with me, the ghost hunting shows started to pop up and I couldn’t help but watch them every time they were on. After watching those for so many years one day the thought just popped into my head that it was time to quit relying on TV and it was time to find out if this stuff was for real for myself, so I jumped in head first, investigating anywhere I thought could be haunted.
Now that I have years of investigating under my belt I do have some answers, but it seems the more I investigate the more questions I end up having. I always keep an open mind and remind myself every chance I get that even though I have my own opinions about the paranormal, I could be wrong. The only thing that is 100% fact in the paranormal is that nothing is 100% fact. None of us really know what is on the other side or what the other side really is. Always seek the truth and more importantly always question those who claim to have found it, trust no one, not even me, and research everything for yourself.
