In our last study we looked at God’s Divine order in creation. Parallel to His order of creation is the order in which He creates man anew. God's initial work always starts with the brooding of the Spirit in Genesis 1:2. To brood means to cover; to fill the atmosphere. It is a verb which means to sit upon; incubate. Gen. 1:2, the Spirit is present to cultivate life in the midst of the chaotic conditions. Before one comes to Christ the atmosphere is set to bring one to Christ. John 6:44 says no one comes to Christ unless he is first drawn by God. Again, according to Gen. 1:2-3 the Spirit sets or preps the atmosphere and the Father draws or calls by His word. Before anything existed, it was spoken first. (Psalm 33: 9) When the Word of God is spoken, light comes. Light disperse darkness and makes ALL things known (John 1: 1-5). Light, like a sword, distinguishes and separates the darkness in Gen. 1:4,5. We are called children of the light / day Eph. 5:8. As the new man in Christ Jesus we shine forth the life of God and have no fellowship with darkness (Matt. 5:16, II Cor. 6:16-18, Eph. 5:11, Phil. 2:15,16). Interestingly, God then made a clear distinction between two realms, heaven and earth Gen. 1:6,7, indicating that with the light a seperation is necessary for full restoration. (Col 3:1, Eph 2:6,) On the third day God called the land to come forth out of the dead waters, which illustrates a beautiful picture of Christ's resurrection. The land represents Christ and the production of the earth is the fullness of His riches (Deuteronomy 8:7-10). II Peter 1:3, 4 says His divine power has given to us all things which relate to life and godliness.
