Corey Merritt will stop by to chat with us about his calling to art, creativity in the digital world, creativity and kids and more. For Corey, art allows him the power to express glimpses of feeling, perspectives on emotion, and make commentaries of his encounters. He feels as though it is his civic duty to create images that reflect our current political and environmental issues and enjoys it when the public can relate to the common joys and travesties that we come in contact with, as dark or as bright as they may be. He has a special interest in illustrating and painting, and periodically dabbles in the art of tattooing. Corey attended the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, as well as The Metropolitan State College of Denver. His business is called Inkstinctual Designs. Growing up Corey idolized Dr. Seuss, Ralph Steadman, Shel Silverstien, and Derek Hess. All are amazing illustrators with their own distinct styles. Happily, he has been paid on several occasions to do large mural depictions of their work. Corey is a native Coloradan and lives in Denver with his wife and 3 children ages 1, 2 and 3. This must be why all the kids at Montessori Academy of Colorado love Mr. Corey so much. As their Art Director he helps the kids express themselves and find their creativity so many different types of art lessons and projects. Corey is a dynamic, fun and inspiring artist. Host and Chief Imaginator Tamara Kleinberg will help you unleash your right brain superpowers and unlock your creative potential by bringing you imaginative, inspiring people from all walks of life. Here’s to a life full of ideas, dreams, joy and laughter. “Dream Big. Imagine Often!” - Tamara
