A former research scientist at Xerox PARC, Crista Lopes was instrumental in developing interserver teleporting for OpenSim virtual worlds. As an associate professor of informatics at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, University of California at Irvine, Dr. Lopes continues to explore "ubiquitous computing," focused on methods of human communication that are "pervasive, secure and intuitive for humans to perceive and interact with."
