Philip Merton is a practicing lawyer with a philosophy degree (Beloit College 1978), whose mission in life is to expose the fallacies in our current materialistic worldview and to advance a more promising – and rational – outlook. In pursuit of that mission, he has spent 30 years studying the foundational ideas to our current scientific worldview and developing the arguments in this book. This topic is very thought provoking, which it is meant to be. Visit www.heavenattheendofscience.com for more about the author and the book. Modern scientific theory assumes that the universe just so happened to burst from the void in an event known at the Big Bang. Science then assumes that this dead matter, operating on its own power and beyond the mind's control, formed itself into everything we see, from the stars in the sky to all living things. Suppose a different perspective is instead true: the universe is a product of the dreaming mind - which some call God - in action? The mind is the source of the universe, not the outcome of Darwinian evolution. Modern science predicts the universe will someday burn away in a heat death. This book concludes that we are slowly rising to the realization that together we dream the world and thus have the power, with united effort, of creating a real heaven on Earth.
