I look forward to helping clear the air about what islam is.(The show was everything I hoped for. I asked the questions most people have been concerned about and the Imam answered the honestly, completely, and dispelled many misconceptions.) Imam Shamshad A. Nasir currently serves as the Missionary In-Charge of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for the southwest region of the United States.  He has devoted his life to serving Islam since 1973 after graduating from Jamia Ahmadiyya, an intensive, multi-lingual, seven-year missionary training seminary in Rabwah, Pakistan.   Imam Shamshad is a prolific and profound speaker and an experienced writer on spiritual, interfaith and secular issues.  He is well-known for his scholarly knowledge of Islam and for building bridges of understanding, cooperation and friendship between Ahmadiyya Islam and other faith-based communities.    Over the last 36 years, Imam Shamshad has served in Pakistan, Ghana, Sierra Leone (West Africa) and the United States.  Prior to his posting in Southern California, he was stationed for eight years at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s U.S. national headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Previously, he served in Houston, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.  Imam Shamshad has been an Imam and missionary in the U.S. for more than twenty years.   Imam Shamshad has worked in the U.S. with many community, state and national leaders to promote the cause of peace through increasing understanding and knowledge of each other.  He is also a regular contributor to many Urdu, English and Arabic newspapers.  His articles have been printed in numerous religious publications as far away as Europe and South Asia.   Throughout his service of the Faith, he has continuously promoted the cause of peace through interfaith dialogs, peace symposiums and humanitarian and civic out-reach, and by engaging in the free exchange of ideas in the available media
