In honor of Black History month, I am please to pay tribute to my 3rd great Aunt...

Sarah Breedlove - Madam CJ Walker.

Sarah Breedlove developed hair care products for African American women ,- Madam Walker's Wonderful Hair Grower.  Madam Walker's company grew into a national corporation which at one point employed over 3,000 people. The Walker System included a broad range of cosmetics, licensed Walker Agents, and Walker Schools which gave meaningful employment to thousands of African American women.

Madam Walker developed innovative methods of mass production, distribution, marketing, and advertising unknown in her day.  Madam C. J. Walker founded the largest African American business in the United States of her time.    

Her aggressive marketing strategies and unstoppable drive led her company to success and her to becoming the first African-American woman to become a self-made millionaire.

Sarah Breedlove - Madam CJ Walker...                              Truly an African American icon.
