Born in Leon, Florida, Sophia Stevenson, is a veteran of the Armed Forces with a 4 year old. She spent 3 years in Japan and was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, she has worked with young women as a small group team leader which has strengthened her for her most rewarding position: MOM.

Sophia adopted her sister's daughter, Saaniya, at birth and this little girl is Sophia's world. We will talk to her about the struggles and rewards of single motherhood.

Her military training has given her discipline and a perspective on life that can benefit civilians and all of us on the front lines of parenthood.
