The Day of Dignity is Islamic Relief's annual Ramadan feeding event for the homeless, and is conducted across the United States. Karim Amin is the Domestic Program Coordinator, of whom oversees all Day of Dignity events in all participating cities and will be giving everyone more insight on this annual event. Working in partnership with Islamic Relief and Giving Back to Humanity is Thamani Akbar, City Coordinator for the Day of Dignity. There are several cities involved, including New York City, Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, Washington, D.C., Newark, NJ, Portland, OR, Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AR and a Native American reservation in Thompson, SD, just to name a few. The goal in Atlanta is to feed 3,000 people and will also be offering free health screening including free mammograms, cholesterol, HIV, STDs, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose screening, Body Fat Analysis, and also a physicians consultation area where people can talk to physician with any Sheets, comforters, towels will be given to needy families, as well as school supplies for children.
