This week, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a new hashtag chat on the student affairs job search with Laura Searcher (not her real name) from theSASearch.Tumblr.Com, a site "dedicated to job searching and transitions in the field of student affairs." On the site, contributors share stories both wonderful and horrible, advice, best practices and red flags - all from both sides of the interview table.

Like many happenstance encounters, I came across that blog after seeing a new their account in a stream on Twitter, and I followed and took notice. Not long after, I asked if @theSASearch would be interested in hosting a hashtag chat devoted exclusively to job-seeking in student affairs, and the new chat, #SASearch was conceptualized. We had a good showing for the first occurrence this Wednesday, from 11:30 s.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET.

The hashtag chat will be held each Wednesday at the same time, and transcripts will be posted at the SA Search.

On this edition of the podcast, we'll talk about Laura's site, and the new chat, and we'd love to take your questions and comments, and hear suggestions for upcoming topics.

One theme that came up a few times in this week's chat was maintaining momentum in a job search that has gone on for a long time. We'll try to provide some perspectives on ways to " kick-start" your search when it's stalled.
