Sunday School: Ruth and Boaz- Listener's Request

Sunday School: Ruth & Boaz. We are closing out our Listener's Requests Revival for August with one of the most popular sermons in the beginning of the Old Testament. Ruth was the daughter in law of Naomi and they'd developed a genuine mother-daughter bond to each other. So much so that when Naomi outlived her husband Elimilech and her two sons Chillion and Mahlon; Ruth insisted that they continue life together as family. Ruth went back to Jerusalem with her mother in law, back to Naomi's people and they started life again. 

We find an interesting twist in this story when we meet Boaz in the second chapter. Boaz is wealthy and powerful. He is also charming and sweet on Ruth. Which is a good thing because the bible places Naomi and Ruth in a desperate position once they reach Jerusalem. Ruth is picking up scraps behind the slaves of the barley fields just to feed herself and her mother in law. Luckily Boaz takes a liking to her and decides that as a 'Family Guardian" he will purchase the estate of his relative Naomi which will also include the transfer of property making Ruth his wife. By the end of chapter three Boaz has taken off his sandal and purchased Naomi from a man she's never met.
