Grieving is a natural part of the human experience as we go through our journey on earth. Grief is felt as a result of loss - loss of a loved one, a beloved pet, a job, a way of living, even as a result of a change in lifestyle. Retirement and divorce can also bring forth a great deal of grief, amidst other conflicting emotions. Everyone's grieving process is unique and at the same time there are common factors. Many of us were not taught how to deal with grief. There are various messages that we are given about grief that are confusing. We can be taken by surprise by how we feel when there is a loss and can feel unprepared to deal with what comes up for us.

The grieving process can be a doorway through which we can get in touch with ourselves on a deeper level, in addition to receiving more clarity of what our values are and our purpose is as we evolve, to facilitate personal and spiritual growth. Grieving is a part of life which can be a catalyst for inner discovery. The process of recovery stimulates new awareness and fosters greater inner-connection, which can become a powerful opening to a new way of living with more aliveness, authenticity and freedom within."
