Dealing with ones’ addictions involves personal exploration, discipline, education, love, including self love and compassion. Many people feel shame and guilt. Sometimes allowing ourselves our own humanness is the truth that can bring release. Dhiana Armstrong is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction Counselor in Colorado. She is a trained Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) according to the Department of Transportation (DOT) legal standards. Dhiana Armstrong has worked in Drug and Alcohol Treatment for 13 years; conducted group therapy with substance abusing adolescents and their families, adults, and with the incarcerated including individuals who committed crimes and even murder while under the influence. Dhiana Armstrong has worked with the homeless, and individuals who have lost their children to Social Services because of substance abuse. She has a special interest in working with children and families in recovery as well as adult children of substance abusing parents (ACOA). She has written a book for children affected by substance abuse which she hopes to publish soon.
