VeltenWith classic self-help, problem-solving methods of Albert Ellis's Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), psychologist and author, Emmett Velten, PhD, will teach blogtalkradio participants on "hello Dr CJ" how to understand the common problem of feeling partly stuck in the past. Something bad happened, or something good did not happen, and that “event” still seems to control your present-day emotions.

Call in to be a participant and learn to use REBT’s A x B = C formula to do something constructive about the fact that current emotions have current causes.

According to Velten, his rapt audience will come away from this mini-workshop appreciating how "MUST-urbation" leads to self-abuse, "awful-izing" leads to more to awfulize about, discomfort dodging won’t get you out of Dodge, and pride goeth before a fall.

Emmett will be Speaking: "How To Get Your Inner Child of the Past To Grow Up and Move Out" Emmett Velten, PhD 7-8:45 pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2010, check with front desk, Lexington Hotel, 1100 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ (at Portland, across Central from TV Channel 12)

This is the first in a series of mini-workshops for both professionals and the general public, teaching, “How To Become Your Own Therapist.”
