"Stretch Out Your Hand!"

Telling a man whose hand was withered to "stretch it out" makes about as much sense as commanding a paralyzed man to "pick up your mat and walk" (John 5:8), sending ten lepers (not yet healed) to the priests to obtain confirmation of their healing (Luke 17:14) or  ordering the servants at the wedding in Cana to fill the jugs with water, draw some out and offer it to the master of the banquet to see what he thought of the "wine" (John 2:8).
