Incarcerated Lives Matter™, Founder Valerie Shaw with L.E.A.P.P. ( Learn Everything About the Parole Process) founders, Patricia and Tyrone.

TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS COME TOGETHER

Tyrone and Patricia crossed paths as youths living in South L.A., but Tyrone was challenged by addicted parents, drugs, gangs and foster care and Patricia was into her books. Although charming and intelligent, unfortunately most of Tyrone's youth and young adulthood were spent behind bars.  At age 25 he received a life sentence, while Patricia pursued her education.

Years later, Patricia, found herself a single mom raising two children. Today she is a teacher and her kids are both pursuing advanced degrees.  

Both Tyrone and Patricia reconnected after decades of being apart.  They formed a friendship, a kinship that grew into a loving relationship.  Tyrone and Patricia were married in 2009 while Tyrone was still serving his life sentence.  

Together, Patricia and Tyrone have formed Learn Everything About the Parole Process((L.E.A.P.P.) to empower families and friends on how they can help their incarcerated loved ones be better prepared for their parole hearings.  

L.E.A.P.P. has monthly workshops providing resources and a speakers bureau that guides families on being advocates for their loved ones, (regardless of the sentence) preparing a Parole Portfolio for their loved ones to take to their Parole Hearing and show the Commissioners who they are today.
