My man wants to get married, but get this - he said he has saved $500 to get me a ring and wants to start looking. Really? He makes good money - I can't believe that's all he saved for a ring. My mom said I'm being materialistic and selfish, but I'll have to wear that ring forever. I was thinking of matching his $500 w/my own money so I can have a decent engagement ring. What do you think? I don't want to hurt his feelings about it, but what kind of ring am I going to get for $500?

I've been with my man for 2 yrs and we have talked about marriage many times, but he hasn't asked me yet. I went and bought him a ring and proposed to him myself. He said "no", and then told me he found it a turn off that I bought a ring and asked him to marry me--he says it's a sign that I don't "know my role" in our relationship. I am hurt, and what I did was out of love. What is the problem?

So my fiance and I decided to elope and run to Vegas and get married. I had already purchased her ring prior to leaving and she decided to wait and purchase my ring in Vegas. When we arrived she went into this huge Pawn Store and picked it up then we proceeded to the ceremony. We decided to stay a couple of nights in Vegas as newlyweds, so I decided to hit the pool and swim for a few hours. As we were driving back home I noticed my ring started to fade and then by the next week it turned green. She said she got the ring she wanted me to have and it was suppose to be a white gold ban :(. Should she replace it or should I just keep it since it is the ring she wanted me to have?
