Sarah looks at the assigned texts for the 13th Sunday after Pentecost: Jeremiah 15:15-21, Exodus 3:1-15, Psalm 26:1-8, Romans 12:9-21, Matthew 5:1-12.  The Gospel text is actually not the one assigned for that Sunday, but is Jesus' Sermon on the Mount where he gives many descriptions of those who are blessed and why.  What do you think of when you hear the word blessed?  How have you been blessed in your life?  Do Jesus's descriptions of the blessed resonate or put you off?
