Hello everybody this is the Grover Weaver Ministries.org commentary of the International Sunday School Lesson on Numbers 28:16-26 for the week of 02-14-2016. Welcome...

PRAISE HIM

The more I studied the verses that are the establishment of the Passover in the whole of the Bible, Numbers 28:16-26, is clear to me this is a celebration the Church will do forever. Luke 22:7-20 places Christ, in the Upper Room on the night before his death making the statement, I will not partake of the Passover again until I can have it in my Father’s house with my disciples. When we sup at the Lord’s Table in my absence do it in Remembrance of Him.

Numbers 28-29 set out the type and number of sacrifices that were offered on every day of the year by the priest for the children of Israel. This was the offerings to be made by a priest; a layman could offer as much and as many sacrifices for sin, impurity or vows as he choose, according to the dictates of his conscience, as long as it’s given with a ‘’willing heart’’...

The tree of knowledge of good and evil that God put it the midst of man he was not to eat of it in Genesis 2:17. He he told man if you do you shall surely die; Satan came alone in 3:4 and said, to the woman, ‘’you shall not surely die’’.

There are three deaths in the Bible, physical death, separation of body and spirit; spiritual death, separation of the individual from God; and eternal death, the final estate of the lost person in the ‘’lake of fire’’ (Rev 20:10,14; termed the ‘’second death,’’ separation from God forever).

This is what the Passover in Numbers 28:16-26 were to fix the prevention of the second and third death.
