International Sunday School Lesson week of 02-01-15 Daniel 1:1-21 & Matt 6:16-18

Daniel was chosen by God for a Special  Ministry for a specific time during the capitivity of Babylon.

God elected him for this ministry before he was formed in his mother's womb.  Isaiah 39:7 prophesied he would be an eunuch in the king's palace in Babylon. 

Verses 1-7 cover Daniel's early ife in the Babylonian Court.  His life in Nebuchadnezzar's palace, Verses 8 his purpose driven life was not to be defile. he makes a preposition with his food server. verse 9 God give him favor'. Verses 10-14 the preposition is proposed, accepted and tested; verses 15-16 the results are in; verses 17-20 the king is impressed with four of the Hebrew boy from the house of Judah.; verse 21 Daniel served God all his life in Babylon.

Matthew 6;16-18 - ...when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites... Fasting and Praying Jesus did not instituted fasting and praying with his disciples though it was practice in the early church (Acts 13:2). Yet he did say somethings can not be done unless you fast and pray (Mark 9:29 Matthew 17:21)
