Today, we'll be chatting with author, Matt McGee as he discusses and reads from his book "How I learned to Love Joyce Carol Oates".

His story-based poetry collection got its start a long, long time ago, back when it seemed her work was everywhere.  She'd been hogging the literary spotlight for decades; whenever a news organization needed to talk to 'an author with her finger on the American pulse', they somehow selected Oates again and again, even though her books weren't best-selling phenomenons anymore.

In Matt's recent experience of turning to the writing mill lifestyle, having gone from creating high-grade stories and poems that contained characters and real places, now to being paid to create romance and non-fiction works for the masses, it's time to come to terms with the juggernaut that has been fifty years of Joyce Carold Oates.

Matthew J. McGee writes short fiction in the Thousand Oaks, CA library until the staff makes him go home.  His short story, 'Unseen Among Kings' received a 2015 Pushcart nomination and his poetry has appeared in multiple Grey Wolfe Publishing productions, including the "Write To Woof" anthology three years running.

He is currently involved in the ghostwriting game, receiving actual pay to churn out romance stories, articles, and non-fiction titles at the rate of one e-book every six days.  He highly reocmmends it as a job, having discovered that it keeps writers sharp and productive.

Matt has been the editor and publisher of Falling Star Magazine since 2000, compiling the stories and poems of writers around the world.

His interest in the Grey Wolfe Radio Show stems from a lifelong love of classic radio programs, including 'Fibber McGee & Molly' (no relation) and 'The Whistler'.
