Mission 30: David Lynch's Return of the Jedi

Few hypotheticals have entranced long-time Star Wars fans as much as the question, “What if David Lynch directed Return of the Jedi?” In light of his later works, people debated what Lynch would have brought to the table, a filmmaker known for his abstract and independent streak.

So this week on Great Shot, Kid!, Mike (@mumbles3k) and John (@kesseljunkie) revisit Dune to glean what they can about how Lynch handles epic science fiction, what similar elements exist between it and Star Wars, what would have attracted Lucas to Lynch as a filmmaker, and how it affords a glimpse into what-might-have-been.
