Benita (Bonnie) Garvin, a Detroit native, is an award winning film and television writer and producer. She is part of the faculty at the nation’s most prestigious film school, USC, where she teaches screenwriting. Her original film, “The Killing Yard”, starring Alan Alda premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and was nominated for a host of awards. Bonnie was nominated for an “Edgar” and won a special media award from the American Bar Association for the film. Her movie on teenage bullying, “Girl Fight” premiered in October 2011 and garnered a Directors Guild of American Award nomination for its director, Stephen Gyllenhaal. In addition to her many projects in the United States, Bonnie also has credits in European film and television. 

 Bonnie is a member of the Writers Guild of America, Writers Guild of Canada and a member of the British Academy of Television and Film Arts.
