Eight years ago, fed up with the havoc chemicals were causing to her hair, Monique cut all chemical processes from her hair, and thus started on the journey towards a more natural less ,chemically laden  use of hair and skin care products for herself and family. It would take a great deal of research, formulations and trials to find the right mix. But it was found and in 2013 Sistah Soaps & Such was born. It is a small handmade soap and body care product company located in the Eastern part of North Carolina.  Soaps and other products are created in small batches in ensure quality. Many products are made fresh to order.   Her products feature a unique and luxurious array of finely crafted soaps, sugar scrubs, salt polishes, and thick, rich hand and body creams. During her years of research into natural skin care, she was introduced to ingredients from the far reaches of the globe.  Once upon this quest to obtain and use these fabulous ingredients, there was no stopping her. Her products contain the raw materials used in ancient skin care remedies from Africa, Ayurvedic practices from India, Native America herbal preparations, and Traditional Chinese Medicine ingredients.

Ingredients for these wonderful products are sourced from the rain forests of Brazil to the trees of West African and the waters of the Dead sea. Clay from the mountains of Morocco, and locally grown and harvested herbs and botanicals are just some of the materials she has used in her products. She freely admits that her soaps are “unabashedly unusual looking and rather oddly endearing” and considers them to one of the simplest forms of luxury.  Her soaps come in all shapes and sizes to suit the skin care needs of everyone in the family.  Shampoo bars provide thick luxuriant lather, facial soaps to help with problem prone skin and hand creams to keep even the driest of hands soft and smooth. A
