540: Eric Alpenfels is the Director of Instruction at Pinehurst Golf Resort and has been an instructor at Pinehurst for 33 years. He's also the co-author of the book Instinct Putting. Co-authored by Bob Christina, PhD, and Cary Heath, PhD, this book's research shows that  looking at the hole, "target vision", improves your distance control on long putts. In this curated version of this week's episode, we discuss how instinct putting works and how it can help.

We also discuss Pinehurst Golf Resort and the nine courses, plus the 18 hole putting course. And we touch on which course to play when you visit depending on your skill level, some great stories about the history of the PGA Tour at Pinehurst, the Pinehurst Golf Academy, and more.

Here's a video excerpt from today's show:

Would you be interested in traveling with Fred Greene and some Golf Smarter listeners for a weekend of golf? Can you please take a minute to answer three questions about a possible trip to either Pinehurst of Thailand in Fall of 2017?
