Jesse Galef is the Communications Director for the Secular Student Alliance. Before being hired in 2010, he worked for the Secular Coalition for America and the American Humanist Association.

The Secular Student Alliance (SSA) is an umbrella organization uniting atheist, agnostic, humanist, rationalist, skeptic, and freethought students and groups on high school and college campuses across the world. The SSA is dedicated to building secular student communities and promoting freethought, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry. The SSA also defends civil liberties, church-state separation, and religious freedom.

Jesse will tell us about some exciting developments from SSA's national office, the upcoming Skepticon conference and the "Stone a Heathen" events on World Blasphemy Day to raise money for Amnesty's anti-stoning efforts.

We'll explore the interplay of atheism, politics and interfaith work ... and why SSA's efforts in building tolerance and promoting reason are so important in today's social climate.

What happened to John McTiernan, famous for directing such action films as Predator, Die Hard, and The Hunt for Red October? Internationally-acclaimed publicist Ilene Proctor will share the shocking story ... a story that's hard to believe happens in America.
