TV Producer, Host and Serial Entrepreneur Gigi Iam interviews Gene Perry. Gene Perry is a native son of Santurce, a town in San Juan, Puerto Rico also know as Cangrejo, Gene is an Afro-Latin Percussionist Extraordinaire. During his upbringing Gene was surrounded by African Rhythms fused with the rhythms of the Caribbean and Latin Culture. Arriving in the mainland with his father, they first moved to Philadelphia and than San Diego, California in 1968. His father, a pianist, provided support and encouragement for his musical interest. Bomba y Plena is a traditional Afro-Caribbean music that influenced him greatly as a youngster. Gene’s passion for the music and traditions of his homeland shine through. Gene has established himself and his music and gives to help others.
