The question “Is Vintage Baseball Making a Comeback?” will be the focus of BlogTalkRadio’s inaugural episode of “Get Social!” http://blogtalkradio.com/GetSocial with hosts Mike McDermott and Greg Enslen on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
The show will feature Reed Spencer, local Realtor and organizer of the Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers as our guest. Reed will share some Tippecanoe history as well as baseball rules and regulations from the early 1900’s that would be considered humorous by today’s standards. “19th century ball players were called ballists,” said Mike, co-host of the program. “Vintage baseball involves wearing period reproduction uniforms, either with long trouser and shield shirt, or a later style lace shirt and knickers”
“Personally”, Greg Enslen adds, “I am not sure what would be more liberating, wearing lacy man-shirts or knickers”
An archive will be available at the same link immediately following the show or listeners can subscribe to the archives via the RSS feed located on the host page. Read more about Mike and Greg as well as pre and post-show discussion on Mike’s blog at http://bashfoo.org/getsocial
