Genevieve Flight interviews an Opera Singer

John was born and raised in Chicago and studied at the University of Michigan, where he studied with the great African American soprano, Shirley Verrett. Tonight he will be discussing how he became interested in opera, began his studies and how he ended up studying with the legendary soprano, as well as discussing the intrigues and pitfalls that many young singers face while pursuing this extraordinary career path.
