KXRW "YOUR COMMUNITY CONNECTION" I nternet radio station presents "Gena's Groove Theory" Gena know by most of her friends, co workers and professors name is Regina White. Gena has been a volunteer street outreach specialist for nearly ten years for MHALA. Now as she is near graduation from Long Beach City College with her degree and certification in Human Services. She started volunteering working with the homeless mentally ill living on the streets. She worked her way through the community gaining critical information concerning social worker/case managements responsibilities and the standards of quality care for clients. She assisted her mentor with engaging clients with clinical intake, psychiatric evaluation, and up to date informative resources, that are needed to implement independent living, along with financial and mental stabilization. Moreover, she provides adequate and necessary referrals to agency professionals that assist with assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and homelessness. Each client has detailed, documented information that they address as areas of immediate concern that affect their ability and efforts to regain, maintain and effectively elevate their succession rate at accomplishing their desired goals and enhancement of quality of life. Regina White coaches clients to achieve life skills that reinforce their self-confidence, courage and determination to overcome adversity while positively applying and utilizing different options in solving life threatening issues. Additionally, she monitors their progress to prevent the promotion of feelings of self-doubt and premature thoughts of failure. Gena combined her learned studied skills accompanied with her personal experience of being a survivor of mental illness etc... And she applies her learned studied skills. CALL 347-327-8089
