Consequences are a result or effect of an action or condition.

To Repent is to  feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin.

To hear the subject of consequences preached anymore in the pulpit is scarce, rare, you just do not hear it. Nobody wants consequences for their behavior. When you recognize your bad or poor or sinful behavior  that you have sown, that behavior and the outcome is consequences. To repent and totally turn from that behavior can decrease the consequences. Yet when your behavior invloves others especially children of GOD and sinning against GOD and them there is more than just repentance required. The BIBLE tells us to go to our brother and make it right. Without that you have not truly repented as the BIBLE says and restored your relationship with your brother.  Pride keeps people from going directly to their brother to make it right. The unwillingness to admit your wrong, or your sin. Therefore, your sowing wrong, you will reap the consequences of that wrong.
