Today's Lesson Topic:  The Prophet Samuel and the Anointing Oils

Samuel was given to the Lord by his mother Hannah who earnestly prayed in the temple for God to bless her with a man-child to remove the reproach of her being barren.  He learned stewardship by attending as a servant to the Prophet Eli who was his teacher and mentor.  “Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  Samuel was predestined for greatness, from his conception and throughout his life time.  He spoke the oracles of God to the children of Israel, and consecrated Kings!  In our lesson we will discuss what made this man so different and unique that he is known as one of the major prophets of the Old Testament.
