Discussion: Why do we allow other people to have a negative influence over our lives?  Sometimes it’s because we are afraid to step forward and take authority for fear of what somebody else will say or do. Will they openly criticize and reprimand us or even perhaps make us feel unworthy and less qualified than themselves should we decide to  advance and move forward? We become so engrossed with pleasing others, that many times we retreat into the background waiting and hoping that somebody will give us the “push” that we need to step up and be seen and heard. Today’s lesson is about reminding ourselves that we ought to seek to please God, more than pleasing people and FAITH pleases God.
