Tony "The Tornado" Penecale and "Rabble Rousin'" Rich Bergeron will be joined tonight by a great group of MMA and boxing guests, starting with a three-for-all interview with some folks involved in a Maryland-based MMA League called "Cage Time." Cage Time MMA's next show is July 31 in Ocean City, MD. Headlining the card is 160 lb. Jesse "The Beast" Nicklow in only his second MMA fight after compiling a 20-2-2 record as a pro boxer. Jake Smith, the league promoter, will also join us. Smith has boxing promotion experience as well and can definitely speak to our ongoing MMA vs. Boxing Debate. Also in this segment we will be joined by Kevin Killian who is 1-0 as a professional MMA fighter and has an impressive amateur record in the sport. The second hour will feature a chat with Pro Boxer "Marvelous" Tarvis Simms (25-1-1, 11 KOs). Nine days before his last fight and only loss, Simms got a call about facing top rated super middleweight Allan Green on the Showtime Network. Even though he returned to the gym 48 hours prior to the fight offer, he accepted the potential career defining opportunity. As per the short notice, Simms struggled to make weight and still put forth a valiant effort come fight night, but it wasn’t enough. He ultimately dropped a very competitive ten round decision and hasn’t fought since. With his lone defeat now nine months behind him, the 39 year old southpaw is itching for what may very well be his final opportunity. Simms is eager to show that he can outpoint any middle or super middleweight on the planet.
