On May 3rd 2019 a young Warrior walked into a test of a lifetime , Van Buren got the call from #InvictaFc to partake in an 8 woman tournament titled Phoenix Rising for the strawweight title . Van Buren not only came prepared but with the heart and mindset of a Champion .

I was there to shoot this tremendous event and was simply amazed , all fighters came prepared for War and Van Buren was a devastating beast right out of the gate. I will touch on this tournament as each fighter had to fight 3 times in one night to obtain the invicta fighting Championship title.

I was impressed with the determination and 3 victories over the competitors whom all had better records , Van Buren proved its not a record that makes a champion but sheer heart and determination !
