Federal Wave

The Federal Wave is about doing business differently as we manage activities in the US Federal Government. Differently - that is - in using context development in coordination with people to share information, real time and with synchronicity. We spend time here every week talking about the interesting aspects of this, and how this can increase efficiency where ever we'd like.

Tension in Re-writing the Play Book - Part 2

We'll take off from where we ended last time, describing basically what FedWave is, and we'll then get right into dividing up creative and emotional tension. We'll use quite a bit of what Dr. Peter Senge's has written about overcoming the obstacle that the play book is not for you to put your hands on or even think about.

Tension in Re-writing the Play Book - Part 1

We'll touch quickly on our topic from last time - lists, and then we'll go further into depth on what FedWave is doing here on blogtalkradio. The main topic in our show, we'll discuss creative tension and structural conflict as it applies to advancing thinking in FedWave. If we have time, we'll refer to some of Dr. Peter Senge's work from his book the Fifth Discipline, as he writes about personal mastery.

The tension we get when we do something creative for real.

Peter Senge talks about the emotional tension versus the creative tension in his book the Fifth Discipline.  In the FedWave, we are just trying to do simple things that are real challenges.  We'd like for this environment FedWave to feel safe for discussing the Wave protocol, and it's application, as it may be used together by the people who are interested in adding it to their suite of tools, to do business at work.  But their structures don't allow them - their structures today - to do this; it just doesn't make sense, because such a thing just plain isn't in the play book.  FedWave is working on putting it in the play book on a higher plateau.  This plateau is beyond the idea of pilots, it is into collectively thinking about Wave's growth for what it represents and intends to do, as a team learning effort, and with a continuously developing shared vision.

How many lists do you you have? How many are yours, or did you create? Are any of them really saying anything about the solution? Come listen to how the world is wiggly, and it is not so difficult to deal with.
