My Search for the Real Heaven

Steve Hemphill graduated from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas in 1979 with a B.A. in marketing.  He spent 28 years in the business world as the owner and president of a successful technology company in Northeast Texas.  

 

He had 32 employees, and annual sales of about $6 million.  But he walked away from that lucrative career because of what he found in his Dad's safe. His father died in August of 2000. Steve and his brother were looking for the will in their Dad's safe after the funeral. What they found rocked their world.  There was an envelope--bulging and sealed--with their Dad's unmistakable handwriting on the front, addressing it to his sons:  "To Steve and Kendal:  This envelope is NOT to be opened except in my presence.  If I am no longer living and it is still unopened, DESTROY IT WITHOUT OPENING.  It is NOT important.  Dad."
