Understanding Narrative Models as Your Identity or Self-Image and Vice Versa

Whatever is the body of knowledge that tells you what to do in a particular domain of activity (like school, home, business, political discussions, etc.) in your effort to achieve any goal large or small is your narrative model. (Our Identity or Self Image in that endeavor in that space and time)

For example, if you run into an obstacle in the pursuit of a goal

Your narrative model is whatever body of knowledge you resort to to try and solve it.

So, you may resort to a hadith like “If a whole nation got together to give you something or deprive you of something they couldn’t do so except by the permission of Allah.”

This also shows you that your narrative model (in any particular domain) is your identity and self-image in that area of endeavor. They set your expectations and motivations and it like the eye atop the pyramid dictate what you “see in every situation” – Threat or Opportunity.
