According to the logic of the Qur’an and Hadith, our prayer is connected to using our brains with faith. Prayer purifies us from our mistakes and enhances our brain power.

In Sajda, the head is lower than the heart. So,it increases blood supply to the brain and stimulates the brain’s frontal cortex. This surge in blood supply has a positive effect on memory, concentration, psychological well-being and other cognitive abilities. A study investigating the alpha brain activityduring prostration has reported increased amplitude in the brain regions controlling the 5 senses. [5 prayers = Amniotic fluid change; in normal birth the baby enters the world in sajda.]

Sajda promotes parasympathetic elevation, which promotes a state of relaxation. [ANS: Sympathetic = Fight or Flight; Parasympathetic = Rest and Digest]
