"We need to tell our children to pay attention to what you’re hearing, isn’t this how we start?  Our worship of G-d to prayer, first before we say anything and its called adhan which comes from the verb adhna which means to pay attention.  And the instruction, if I want to tell you pay attention I say “Astadhnan” from “Udhan” from “Udhan” comes adhan or from the verb to pay attention comes “Udhan”. They say Arabic words come from verbs not from nouns, the root is a verb not from the noun, so if that’s true then “Udhan”, ear came from the verb to pay attention.  And Adhan also comes from the verb that means  to pay attention and we put our hands to our “Udhanain” two ears  or one, some of them call with one, they are styling, but the regular way is to put both hands to our ears like this and its called Adhan from “Udhan” the ear."
