The 1st hour will be the National MARIAM Conference presentation of Imam Jihad Saafir and his wife Mrs. Garland Bush of Masjidul Ibaadullah in Los Angeles, California

Rashad Abdul-Rahmaan was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to Muslim parents on December 22, 1982.  In 2003 he began attending the Mosque Cares youth dawa classes conducted by Imam WD Mohammed. Emphasis was on Quranic Arabic and Comparative Religion.  Shortly thereafter he became an assistant instructor for the intermediate Arabic class.

Since the end of the youth dawa classes in 2006, he has been invited to speak across the country, including University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Princeton University. He was a participant of a three year interfaith dialogue with leaders of the Presbyterian Church USA and conducted a weekly program on AM 360, AL-Islam in View.

From 2009-2015 he served as the assistant Imam and assistant Director of Education at CMS at Masjid Sultan Mohammed. He also taught beginners and advanced Arabic to children in grades 2-12 and weekly Islamic Studies classes to community members.

He currently lives in Atlanta, GA and works as the assistant Imam at Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam. He is also pursuing a double major in Comparative Religion and Philosophy.
