There were two very famous Han Shan Zi's.  One lived in the Tang dynasty and wrote great poetry.  The other lived in the Ming dynasty and wrote a great autobiography and also a large number of very profound commentaries on the sutras.  The Ming dynasty Han Shan Zi had much to say that applies to that interesting issue of Freedom and Choice.  His biography is a well told, eventful story.
